Top 10 Luxury Beauty Advent Calendars
Gifting is our business, so December is most definitely one of our favourite times of the year. The Giftpoint team has been working hard all year to pull together the very best gift sets and gift with purchase items for our esteemed clients. Much of this work started as far back as December last year so it’s a real treat to see the promotional product concepts that we’ve crafted in retail stores and online shopping portals. It’s not the Christmas we had in mind when we started working on all of our projects this time last year but there’s a brief 5-day reprieve in sight and day by day encouraging signs for the rollout of a vaccine.
We’re already knee-deep in Easter and Summer 2021 marketing promotions and beginning to plan merchandise for the long-awaited return of the events and festival sector. Fingers crossed there’s some good news for those industries soon.
For now, we’re going to take a brief pause to savour the official start of the Christmas season. It’s the day the Christmas songs get their first airing on the radio and more importantly, the first door on the advent calendar. And, how we love an advent calendar! Grab a mince pie and a cup of your finest tea-break tipple and join us as we take a tour of the most decadent beauty advent calendars on the market. Many of these calendars are sold out but they’re just too beautiful not to include and at least you have the heads-up to get them on the list early next year (around October!).
Beauty Advent Calendars
What’s not to love about a calendar stuffed full of the best beauty and grooming products on the planet? Not only is there the positive joy in receiving a new product every day but it’s a great opportunity to try out brands and beauty solutions with little risk or commitment. In many cases, the value of the combined products far outweighs the cost of the calendar so even those that look pretty steep at £100 plus can yield daily presents that tot up to in excess of £500. Here’s an edited selection of our favourites.
Jo Malone London Beauty Advent Calendar £320
A Jo Malone candle in the festively decked living room is the icing on the Christmas cake so this definitely gets top marks from us. This calendar sells out without fail every year. Is it any wonder when every day brings a new miniature Jo Malone cologne, candle or body treat?
Feel Unique £89
We’re partial to a bit of Willy Wonka golden ticket nostalgia so we love the fact that Feel Unique’s advent offering includes a hidden golden gift card worth up to £1,000 each for one person and a nominated friend or relative. Ok, the odds are slim, but we’ll happily console and pamper ourselves with daily treats from the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier and Aveda.
Lumene £89.90
Cruelty-free beauty is covered off by the wonderful Nordic brand, Lumene. All of their skincare products contain a blend of natural Finnish ingredients, including pure arctic spring water, arctic cloudberry, Nordic Pine Bark and Nordic Chaga and the packaging is positively dreamy.
Revolve £115
As one would only expect from the directional fashion-forward portal, Revolve is on the case with their super stylish advent calendar. You can anticipate cool brands like GLAMGLOW, Stila, Sunday Riley, By Terry, Supergoop! and Peter Thomas Roth, all packed inside a keepsake suitcase. It certainly makes up for missed holidays and globetrotting this year!
Mac Boom Boom Wow £125
As the name suggests, get prepped for fireworks from Mac’s 24-days of beauty booty calendar. The frosted firework case reveals a selection of Mac’s mini and full-size products including their much-loved, industry favourite products; Matte Lipstick and trusty Fix+ spray. The build-up to Christmas just got a serious makeover even if there’s nowhere to go.
Look Fantastic
This highly sought-after calendar joins the long list of ‘sold out’ and with a value of £460 for just £85 it’s easy to see why it sells out in a matter of weeks. When we got a sneak peek at the 2020 contents, we could see for ourselves that Look Fantastic had gone all out to give customers the biggest and best advent calendar to date. Among the brands included are Elemis with their Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream – worth £63 alone. Other must-have brands, including Anastasia Beverly Hills, Illamasqua, Omorovicza, ESPA and Philip Kingsley.
Liberty £215
This calendar is one to bag early. Perhaps one of the most coveted beauty advent calendars around, it ranked as the London store’s fastest-selling product in its 145-year history back in 2018. Such was the appeal; the coveted calendar attracted a queue of more than 400 customers on launch day.
Its popularity has not waned and we’re sure it’s due in part to the whopping value of the contents as well as the much-loved cult brands. This year’s calendar is packed with £789 worth of beauty treats. Nineteen of the twenty-five drawers yield full-size products and of course, the design incorporates an iconic Standen print from the Liberty Classics Collection.
Harrods £250
Harrods and Christmas are inseparable as far as we are concerned so this beauty was always going to make it onto our list. The theme is all about prioritising self–care this holiday season, and the signature Harrods green box is filled with the most popular skincare, make-up and fragrance products from their hallowed Beauty Halls. There’s a mix of full-sized and mini treats worth over £700, including luxury brands like 111SKIN, Darphin, Dr Sebagh.
Cowshed £130
After a year of intense handwashing, we are only too glad to welcome an advent calendar that includes a pair of cotton manicure gloves for overnight moisture restoration! That coupled with 24 mini face and body treats makes for a month of home-spa luxury indulgence.
Lush £185
This calendar makes it to the list because it’s handmade in the UK and we love the reusable and recyclable packaging. It’s also by far the most fun and festive with the gorgeous artwork created by London based designer, Sally Kelly. Every day delivers a festive treat from Coconut Snow Body lotion and Candy Cane Bubble Bar to Yog Nog Shower Gel, and a Snow Fairy shampoo bar.
